Finding a real estate agent. You start you search for a condo in Florida and end up on Singer Island. You want a real estate agent that is familiar with the area. Which agent do you choose? Many large real estate companies have what they call buyers agents. What is a buyers agent? In most cases it is someone fresh out of real estate school who never sold a piece of property and may not even own their own home yet. Buying a home is a huge commitment so you may want to ask a few questions first when buying Singer Island condos.

How long have you been selling real estate?

How many homes have you sold?

Have you lived in the area long?

Do you specialize in any particular are or property type?

 

Sure I could rattle back answers to all those questions but how can you really check. Ask them to send you listings of homes they have sold in the past year. At the bottom of every home sale we have the listing agent and the selling agent. It takes a few minutes to send you that information.

How long have you lived in the area, we really can’t check on that but Facebook has a lot of information about people and where they have lived, their jobs etc.

You want someone that specializes in what you are looking for. I don’t want an agent that sells homes in Abacoa if you are buying a condo on the beach. You don’t visit a cardiologist if you have knee pain. You could but not recommended. Make sure your agent is a full time agent and not a school teacher, bag person at Publix or a waitress at night. Get a full time agent that knows and sells. This isn’t something you can easily return if you aren’t happy. Your real estate agent is free and you want the most educated, honest and best Singer Island realtor you can find.
